Was this comic done by the same people who did the Elton John comic? It seems vaguely similar. Either that, or there's only so much new ground one can blaze in the field of unauthorized pop biographical comics. Also, why are so many Stupid Comics from the 1980s? Was it a particularly stupid decade relative to the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70, and 90s?
Might be the same artists, certainly the same style. Most British comics are uncredited so it's hard to tell. We cover a lot of 80s comics because, well, you can buy all you want out of the cheap bins at comic shops and conventions. 40s and 50s comics are just as stupid, but more expensive. 90s stupid comics are kind of depressing, but cheap also.Yes, we actually own physical copies of (darn near) everything that goes up at Stupid Comics. I don't know if that makes US just as stupid, but it might.
Is it just me or does typed text suck a lot of life out of a comic?
The '80s were a fertile time for bad comics thanks to the success of TMNT and the ensuing "B&W indie glut." I used to subscribe to CBG then and the ads they ran for amateurish self-published dreck had to be seen to be believed.
