Hey, remember in the 1980s when neckbearded mainstream comic fans made unfunny parodies of comics that didn't cater to their specific interests? Stupid Comics remembahs!

  1. I'm kind of a prude in a lot of ways, but I didn't mind the orgy scene in Elfquest that much. Elfquest did a really good job imagining how a species with a vastly different view of sexuality than humans could adapt in a variety of environments (e.g., the settled Sunfolk, the nomadic Wolfriders, the barbaric Go-Backs), and shows how innovative female comic book writers and artists can be. The parody comics, on the other hand, were terrible on every level, especially the Star Trek parody. I don't know why people think that Star Trek cross-overs are a good idea, because they almost never are.
